Fit4Duty developed from a small business startup first registered as “Drug and Alcohol Testing Services” in 1998. The business grew from its humble beginnings in Brisbane’s south-east.
During the initial years, drug testing was a very new concept outside of the mining sector, so there was adequate time to develop the systems required to perform work in this relatively new field (IT platform, procedures and training etc).
In acknowledging that the majority of programs that were being developed by our customers were titled “fitness for duty policies”, the new business name “Fit4Duty Pty Ltd” was registered in 2000.
During the early years we successfully implemented programs for many large multinational clients – virtually all of whom are still clients to this day. Some trialled other competitors only to return at the end of service contract or earlier.
We relocated to an office complex at Raby Bay foreshore and then, to accommodate our growth expanded into a neighbouring Suite, then a third and fourth. Finally we sought a single much larger building which we purpose fitted as well as setting up a warehouse close by to house our equipment division.
Due to a relentless focus on quality and customer service, we quickly developed a reputation for extremely high standards backed by excellent training and strong IT systems. Fit4Duty expanded in the early 2000’s throughout every State in Australia.
Now, some 20 years after our beginning, our group is now one of the largest specialist organisations servicing the workplace drug & alcohol safety sector in Australia and now expanding into New Zealand.
We have continued to focus on our 3 values:
- caring – we care for the welfare of our staff, customers and the public. We care about doing the right thing and treating people respectfully.
- ethics – we value ethical business practices in all of its forms. We don’t over promise and we never under deliver.
- difference – we do things differently, we do not intend to be the cheapest – our aim is to offer the very best value for money.
